We believe that education is the civil rights issue of our time, with the future of our community inextricably linked to our excellently educating all of our students.
Tonight (Tuesday, March 5th) at 5:30 pm, the Little Rock School Board has the opportunity to immediately unite our community by choosing the candidate with the strongest, broadest and most diverse support among parents, teachers, employers and citizens. Choose wisely, and our new school leader will be able to put students first from day one.
Choose otherwise, and our new school leader’s first focus will not be the performance of our students, but with attempting to repair the divisions his candidacy and selection have caused in our community. In other words, more of the same.
We strongly urge the board to unite our community by ushering in a new generation of excellence in Little Rock schools. The future of our students and our city depend on their wise decision.
Please attend tonight and/or consider writing members of the board. Respectfully encourage them, collectively or individually, to be that courageous champion all of our children need. Little Rock schools can make history again, this time for excellence.
