Forest Park, Don Roberts Named Among State’s Top 25 Elementary Schools

Two Little Rock School District elementary schools, Forest Park and Dr. Don R. Roberts, have been named among the state’s top 25 by the University of Arkansas Office for Education Policy.

The 2012 Outstanding Educational Performance Awards honor the top elementary and middle schools and are based on performance on the state’s benchmark exams.

In combined math and literacy, Forest Park ranked 11th, with 96% proficient or advanced and a cumulative GPA of 3.74. Dr. Don R. Roberts ranked 18th, with 93% proficient or advanced and a 3.69 cumulative GPA.

Forest Park and Roberts ranked 18th and 24th, respectively, in math, and 7th and 24th, respectively, in literacy.

By contrast, the only public middle school in Pulaski County named was the Lisa Academy, an open enrollment public charter, which had 90% proficient or advanced in literacy and a cumulative GPA of 3.45.
